As impressive as the size of Palacio Real is from the outside, and overwhelming once you step into some of the more than three thousand rooms, the details in the construction are just as amazing. Intricately painted ceilings, gilded chandeliers, and ornate tapestries are the most noticeable, but the work of the tradesmen, skillfully wrapping window frames around columns, impressed me just as much. Here, the sagging, centuries old glass added to the quality of the work, while also adding a bit of mystery to the image.
