El Paraguas Rojo
Photographed 8 March 2018
Toledo
24”X36” on canvas
      $275

After an early morning train ride, I arrived to a Toledo shrouded in fog, with a light mist falling. As I began my walk towards the city perched high on a hill, I stopped on the banks of Rio Tajo to view the ancient stronghold, and in particular, Puente de Alcántara that crosses the river. The stones and surrounding hillside drew from the same palette. As I stood, preparing to photograph it, a person walked through the arch with a bright red umbrella, adding contrast and a focal point that the scene needed.
