I have walked these narrow streets before, when the cobblestones have been slick with rain, the colors muted, and the sky a dull gray. At times like that, Toledo can seem a lonely place, the lanes filled with mystery; a history untold. The real magic of Toledo though, is in its life, it always has been. An unbreakable spirit. On a day like this, when the sun shines above the plains of La Mancha, and people fill the streets, tourists and natives alike, the mystery lifts a bit, the buildings glow with a golden light, and her magic is revealed.
