Plaza Mayor is an immense three acre completely enclosed square in the center of Madrid that dates back to the 15th century. The moment you step into it, you can feel the history, even as you are overwhelmed by everything you see.This was my first impression of it. I could see the semicircles of light on the stone walkway, and knew that I needed to photograph a person walking away from me; bathed in that soft light. It took a few minutes, and a number of not quite right images before I was able to capture this man glancing in the window as he strolled leisurely past.
